Both those that flow between mountains, that wind their way through canyons, and those that are wide and flow through rich and fertile fields. This is why people most often built theirs houses near rivers. This is how many a settlement has been founded. On the banks of the rivers Drina, the Bosna, the Vrbas, the Una, the Neretva, nowadays one can find some of the most beautiful towns and cities of ours. And usually, when the inhabitants of these towns and cities went on picnics, they went to the banks of their rivers. That is why there is a saying: "There's no fine picnic without river". / Rivers have been and still are the best roadsigns. "You just follow the course of the river and you won't get lost", our people say. They used to build mills for grinding their flour, powered by the water of the rivers. The roads, too, most often, followed the courses of the rivers. So, small wonder why there are so many tales and stories and songs about our rivers. The life itself was going on by the rivers and on their banks. People sung and still sing about their beauty, the beauty of their rivers, their magic and the events that had taken place by them.」と記載。
