曲目解説1枚目に「TRACK 1. MAUI'S FISH[下線付]」「Duration: 2'45"[下線付]」「Before the coming of the European the Maori had no written language. All his history and genealogy were recorded in Chants which were handed down from father to son through the generations. Many of these chants are still sung today while also new songs have been written to convey the ancient teachings of their race. / There are many stories in Maori folk lore which relate to the part their gods played in the coming of the world. One refers to the god Maui who, one day when he was out fishing with his brothers, captured the North Island of New Zealand and brought it up from the depths of the ocean. Indeed the land mass does resemble the shape of a large fish with the tail pointing towards the North, while Wellington Harbour in the South takes on the appearance of the mouth. / This first song, written and sung by Sid Melbourne, describes the great event from when the bait was cast until the fish eventually lay upon the waters and the birds descended to begin life on "Maui's fish".」と記載(「[This first songに]下線」「はじめにS.E.あり」「終わりにもS.E.(波)あり」「男、女、二重唱」「ギター伴」の書き込みあり)。
