- 曲目解説3枚目に「There is an old tradition in the folklore of Ireland (and indeed of Scotland and other northern countries) that certain creatures of the sea can take on human form – usually that of a beautiful girl – and can even marry ordinary mortals. Some families in the West of Ireland are said to be descended from a mermaid or a seal-woman. The story goes that a fisherman came on the mermaid by surprise, caught her and brought her home, and married her and they lived together as man and wife and had children. Many versions of the story relate that the man took away from a rock a cloak or a head-gear worn by the mermaid and hid it where he thinks she cannot find it. As long as he has this in his possession she will stay with him in human form as his wife and the mother of his children. A few years later however, she finds her hidden sea-cloak while cleaning the house, puts on the cloak, leaves her husband and children and goes back into the sea to her own kind.」「Our next song echoes this story and comes from the Gaelic speaking district of Donegal in the north west of Ireland. The singers are the O Donnell family; Tríona, Mairéad and Michéal.」「THE MERMAID (Translation).[下線付]」「"O my sweetest mother, said fair-haired Mary, / Down there by the sea shore, on the edge of the tide; / You are a mermaid again, O Mary Kenny; / Swimming across the sea near the mouth of the river Erne.」「MAC DONNELL FAMILY:」「AN MHAIGHDEAN MHARA」「(THE MERMAID)[下線付]」「2'26".」と記載(「②」「女(3人?)」「ギター伴」「[a mermaidに]囲い」「[a seal-womanに]囲い」の書き込みあり)。
