The rest of the children form a circle and walk around the oni, counterclockwise hand in hand, singing a song which comprises questions and answers. When they come to the end of their song while still walking round and round, they each pat the head of the oni with their hands and quickly squat down surrounding him. The oni is now supposed to guess the name of the child who has squatted right behind him. If the oni guesses right, that child must take his place for the next round of the game. If oni fails to guess the name of the child in three tries, he has to be the oni again.
