- 雑資料「JAPANESE NURSERY & CHILDREN'S SONGS」四頁に「(g) YUGI UTA(GAME SONGS)」「1. Imomushi Koro Koro (A Green Caterpillar Is Marching on) 36"」、三十三頁に「E.(g) YUGI UTA(GAME SONGS)」「1. Imomushi Koro Koro (A Green Caterpillar Is Marching on)」「In this game, children form a column and squat down on the ground, each child holding tight to one before him by throwing his arms around that child's waist. All together they」、三十四頁に「appear more like the larva of some insect with its joints moving here and there. Since the children are squatting, their legs look very, very short, and the whole column looks like one of the gigantic green caterpillars found in Japan. They then start moving forward in this squatting position, swinging their bodies to and fro. While doing this, the hands of the children are apt to slip and this causes the huge green caterpillar to be cut into two. The child who has failed to retain his hold on the child ahead of him is then expelled from the column. "Imomushi Koro Koro" (A Green Caterpillar Is Marching on) is the song sung as the column of children moves forward.」「Singing in this recording are primary school children in Niigata Prefecture on the northeastern side of Honshu, facing the Japan Sea. Niigata is famous as one of the granaries of Japan, and is situated 300 kilometers north of Tokyo, capital of Japan.」「The words of this song mean: "We look like a green caterpillar marching forward. We march on like a gourd stuffed with things which rolls forward, rolling, rolling."」「Since this kind of game neither needs any particular tools or material, nor requires any large space, and because it is very warming, small children in many parts of this country still enjoy playing it, especially in winter.」と記載。
