雑資料「JAPANESE NURSERY & CHILDREN'S SONGS」二頁に「C. SONGS FEATURING ANIMALS」「7. Tsuru (Crane) 42"」、二十頁に「7.Tsuru (Crane)」「Towards November every year various birds migrate to Japan from Siberia. The largest and most beautiful of them all is the crane, which has been loved by the Japanese since ancient times as the bird with a very long span of life, which is traditionally believed to extend over a thousand years. With the advance of the overall urbanization of the archipelago, however, the areas visited yearly by cranes from the north have been reduced drastically to only three - Yamaguchi Prefecture in the western end of Honshu, Hokkaido in the northernmost part of the country, and Kagoshima Prefecture situated at the southern tip of Kyushu, which lies to the west of Honshu.」「People in these districts are therefore very anxious to welcome and protect the cranes and they are making every effort to keep their places as attractive as possible for the birds, feeding them every day during the winter. The children in these districts are naturally attached to cranes, looking on them as welcome guests from a faraway country. Whenever they spot the cranes, therefore, they call to them and ask them to show different formations in their flight.」「The present recording of the song "Tsuru" (Cranes) was made by primary school children in Kumage Town in Yamaguchi Prefecture. This is a quiet farming village situated in the westernmost part of Honshu, and it is indeed the only place in Honshu today where cranes arrive every winter.」「The words of the song go something like this: "Dear cranes, when you fly in the sky in flocks, form a straight line just like a bamboo pole. Then, fly in the form of the letter 'L' ; and in the end fly in the form of a circle just like a drumstick container."」と記載。
