- 雑資料二枚目に「1. HIDEKO-BUSHI 2'31"」、五枚目に「"HIDEKO-BUSHI"(Akita Prefecture)」「In northeastern Japan,it has long been customary to gather herbs as soon as the grasses put out their shoots,in order to augment the local diet, since vegetables are generally scarce in early spring. And since these herbs are gathered jointly by young men and women, the custom has given birth to many a love affair.」「Originally, this song was sung on such occasions. "Hideko" is the local name for an edible herb of the lily family. The lyrics go something like this: "Young lady, where did you gather herbs this morning? You must have gotten these at the foot of the mountain ...." With simplicity, it describes the encounter of a boy and a girl, and how they gradually get to know each other.」「Originally a youthful song, it is now generally sung at drinking parties to the accompaniment of the shamisen,a three-stringed instrument resembling a banjo.」「Miss Yuko Hikage, the vocalist, who has been singing folk songs since her childhood, was raised in an ideal environment, her father, Kan-etsu Hikage, being a prominent singer of Akita folk songs. Miss Hikage chiefly performs at a public house operated by her family.」と記載。
