It is sung by a male singer from Silifke, South-western Anatolia, to the accompaniment of clarinet, drum, spoons and bottle.」「They call the morning breeze Badi-sabah／They call him a fool who offends his love／The man who has someone to share his sorrow／Feels as if he is up in a cool plateau.／Shady are the sycamores of G嗅belen／The brave have their skill in their hand／I ask you, oh the fountain of Kayfeli／Has my Asli drunk from your waters?」「Kerem and Asli is a well-known Turkish folktale that is often sung by Turkish ashiks or lover-poets (troubadours). The story can be summed up as follows: "Kerem is desperately in love with Asli, an Armenian girl. Although the sun of a ruler, he gives up all claims to throne and title and follows his sweetheart for many years. He expresses his deep love for her in songs he sings to the accompaniment of his saz. Asli is in love with Kerem too, but she cannot find opportunity to tell Kerem of her love. One day Kerem is burned to ashes. Asli sits by him and cries for forty days and nights. Her hair catches fire when she is sweeping his ashes with her hair. She is burt too.
