- 曲目解説「EXPLANATORY NOTES ON THE 19 SPECIMENS OF TURKISH FOLK TUNES ON TAPE」に「1.A tune played on the kaval when taking the flock to the water and back.」「The subject of the tune: A shepher lad who is a skilled kaval player has fallen in love with the daughter of his agha (master). When he asked her from her father, he said "I'll give you my daughter on one condition. You will take the flock, after it has been given salt, to water, and bring it back without watering; you will repeat this three times. If you can do it you will marry my daughter." The shepherd accepted these terms, and led the flock, with the magical tunes of his kaval to the fountain and back three times, without letting the sheep drink, and succeeded in winning the hand of his sweetheart. This is the leading tune of kaval melodies. It can form the basis of a symphonic poem.」「The kaval is a wind instrument particularly popular among shepherds all over Turkey. The kaval used here is a thin, straight, hollow pipe, made of the wood of the plum tree, without a mouthpiece.」、同資料に小泉教授の手書きによる「2/4拍子」「くり返し」「管」が記されている。
