- 曲目解説に「1.」「"The Little Shepherdess"[下線付]」「This song was written down in southern Sweden in the 1690s and again in the 18th and 19th centuries.」「Elin Lind was born in 1876 in Dalarna (central Sweden) and was almost 80 when this recording was made. She learned her songs from her mother and uncle, and her song tradition goes back to the 19th century. In recent years she has sung mostly for her grandchildren.」「A line might be drawn through central Sweden from southeast to northwest and called the chalet boundary. North of it, the tradition of taking the livestock to pastures in the mountains and staying with them in mountain chalets remained a long time. Today this tradition has almost entirely disappeared, but you can still meet women who have taken part in the old move in the beginning of June every year. They stayed in the mountains all summer, and when the dark autumn evenings came, longing for sweethearts left behind might be very great. They were supposed to move back to the village on St. Michael's Day, September 29, and the following song is about that holiday.」「"The Little Shepherdess"[下線付]」「The little shepherdess sang the song for me,/ as well as she could,/ and half of my heart I give to you,/ she sang as well as she could.」「Half your heart, I can't get that,/ as well as she could,/ but I'll sing my song anyway,/ she sang as well as she could.」「The shepherdess sang songs, yes, one or two,/ and the king danced and all his court./ She sang as well as she could.」「The shepherdess sang songs, four or five,/ and the king danced and all of his men./ She sang as well as she could.」と記載(「[1に]黒丸印」「老女一人[赤字]」「無伴奏[赤字]」の書き込みあり)。
