- 曲目解説に「The boy places a May crown on his sweetheart, a crown of young birch twigs intertwined with flowers and golden tinsel. The song tells of lusty May that brings the happy summertime in. The sun climbs higher at noon, the air is warm, the lilac is in bloom and spreads its perfume. It announces the summer.」「May first is also the workers' day. A holiday. That's fine. Then who wants to stay at home or in the shop? Families want to go into the green countryside. Out of the canyons formed by the buildings of the city, out to walk in the country, the picnic basket hanging on the arm, or at least in the car trunk.」「On the cool hills in the woods, the spring is carried up out of the forests. A boy hides in the thickets and the village children search for him with happy cries. When he's found, he's decorated with green leaves and brought back to the village in triumph.」「At the center of these village festivities, everywhere in West Germany, we find the May pole, usually a tall birch. Its decorations in Bavaria turn it into a work of art. Down there they search for it as early as February, remove the bark and cut a spiral groove in it from the bottom to the top, and crown its point with a large, free-swinging wreath which the girls decorate with flowers and ribbons.」「In the wide open spaces of the Niederrhein, the Lower Rhine, the May poles reach high above the roofs of the houses and at its foot the young people dance the traditional May dances and sing the local May songs. The birds too sing about a happy summer coming.
